ACTIVATION OF YOUR LUXTRUST PRODUCT
Activate
You are about to activate your LuxTrust product (LuxTrust Mobile app, Token, Scan, SmartCard or Signing Stick). First, we invite you to have a look at what to expect during the activation process for your chosen device, then gather all the necessary elements for a successful activation.
Estimated time: 5 minutes
- Click on the "Start activation".
- Select the Token.
- Enter your User ID in the dedicated field and validate.
- Enter your initial password in the dedicated field and validate.
You will find your User ID and initial password in the letter or SMS received with your LuxTrust codes. If you no longer have these elements, contact our Customer Service Desk at (+352) 24 550 550.
- Choose a new complex password (6 to 10 characters) and enter it in the dedicated field. Confirm and validate.
- Choose 3 security questions. This will allow you to identify yourself in case you lose your device or forget your credentials. Indicate a clear answer that you will remember for each of them and validate.
- Press the button on your Token to generate a 6-digit one-time code (OTP code).
- Enter the OTP code generated in the dedicated field and validate.

- Click on the "Start activation" button.
- Select the Scan.
- Enter your User ID in the dedicated field and validate. You will find this User ID in the letter or SMS you received some time before receiving your Scan.
- Scan the first QR code and enter the 10-digit code generated by your device.
- Enter your activation code. You defined this code when ordering. We advised you to use the last 5 characters of your ID card or passport number. You will find this code in the order confirmation you received by email. If you no longer find it, please contact our Customer Service Desk at (+352) 24 550 550.
- Confirm the code.
- Scan the second QR code and enter the 8-digit code.
- Enter the serial number you find on the back of the Scan.
- Confirm the code entered.
- Scan the QR code and validate the action on the Scan.
- Enter the OTP code displayed on the LuxTrust Scan.
- Enter the initial password which you will also find in the letter or SMS you received.
- Choose a new complex password to finalize the activation and validate it.
- Choose your security questions and indicate a clear answer for each of them before you can validate.
- Scan the last QR code and enter the OTP code displayed on your Scan.

- Download the LuxTrust middleware available here.
- Restart your computer.
- Insert your Smartcard into the card reader or the Signing Stick in the USB post of your computer.
- Enter your initial PIN code that you received by letter after receiving your Smartcard.
- Choose a new PIN code (6 to 16 digits) and type it in the dedicated field, then a second time before validating.
- Click on the "Start activation" button below.
- Select the device to activate: Smartcard or Signing Stick.
- Enter your PIN code that you have previously defined and confirm.
- Choose your security questions and indicate a clear answer for each one before you can validate.
- Enter your activation code. You defined this code when ordering and you were advised to use the last 5 characters of your ID card or passport number. You will find this code in the order confirmation sent to you by email. If you no longer find it, please contact our Customer Service Desk on (+352) 24 550 550.
Your certificate is activated. Please note that it will be usable after 4 hours.
What do you need to activate your LuxTrust product?
Depending on your chosen LuxTrust product, you will have to provide during the activation process different verification elements. Make sure you have them at hand before you start the activation.
- Your User ID received by letter and / or SMS
- Your initial password received by letter and / or SMS
- Your device (if applicable)
- Your activation code (defined during ordering and required to activate the LuxTrust app, a Scan, a SmartCard or a Signing Stick)
