LuxTrust's commitments
Shaping a more sustainable future together
"Sustainability must be the guiding principle behind all our decisions and actions. Whether as an employer or a service provider, becoming a responsible company is essential to maintaining the trust of our employees, customers and suppliers. Without trust, we cannot function. It is the very essence of our identity", Fabrice Aresu, CEO of LuxTrust.
A responsible company
Our ESR label issued by the INDR
Since 20 October 2023, LuxTrust has been part of the community of responsible companies labelled ESR - Entreprise Responsable by the INDR (National Institute for Sustainable Development and Social Responsibility). As a Luxembourgish and European player in trust services, we have chosen the INDR's ESR label to assess our ESG practices and highlight our social actions.
Meet Walter Boulain, Chief Financial Officer, and Sophie Roberge, CSR Manager, in the video on the right, who will explain you why we chose this label and which initiatives have been thus highlighted.
Respecting and promoting human rights
LuxTrust has adopted a proactive and voluntary approach in favour of Human Rights by signing the National Pact "Business and Human Rights" on 20 September 2023. LuxTrust is thus committed to "applying the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights" within its organisation and throughout its value chain.
To this aim, we have already taken the following actions:
- raised staff awareness, at all levels of its internal governance structure, of the protection of human rights in business,
- nominated a human rights officer within our organisation, with the authority, skills and resources needed to carry out her duties,
- published a report on the measures implemented on the dedicated website,
- set up channels of appeal to deal with reported cases of human rights violations.
We are committed to:
- provide more specific training on business and human rights for the employees concerned,
- develop governance tools to identify risks and prevent human rights violations.
Our CSR initiatives and projects
Discover the initiatives and events we regularly organise in different areas
to raise awareness of our CSR policies, contribute to the community and
promote diversity and inclusion.
Our Happiness Committee was created in 2021 to promote well-being at work and strengthen the cohesion between our employees. This committee, made up of LuxTrust employees, is responsible for organising various events to promote conviviality and team spirit within our company. Regular events are organised throughout the the year, such as the Family Day and the LuxTrust Awards, which rewards seniority as well as employees' initiatives in sustainable development, knowledge management, well-being at work and innovation.
In 2023 and 2024, our company took part in Movember, an annual movement encouraging men to grow moustaches to raise awareness about men's diseases. Conferences hosted by the Fondation Cancer and workshops on nutrition and addiction were offered to all our employees. To mark our commitment, at the end of November, a barber came to refresh the look of our Mo'Bros, who proudly sported moustaches.
We celebrated the richness of our employees' cultures at the Diversity Day lunch on 14 May 2024. This event was an opportunity for everyone to discover their colleagues' culinary specialities and culture.
At the invitation of the Ministry of Digitalisation, we have been taking part in the Digital Inclusion Forum since its first edition in 2023. This event is an opportunity to exchange ideas with associations and individuals. This helps us to better understand our clients' needs, so that we can adapt our products and services and make them more inclusive.
We raise awareness of climate issues among our employees through the Climate Fresk. This interactive training enables them to gain a better understanding of environmental challenges and become actively involved in our sustainable policies. We also offer 2-Tons Workshops to give employees a better understanding of how they can take effective action against climate change.
At our headquarters in Luxembourg, we have adopted the Me'Go solution by equipping smoking areas with adapted ashtrays. The Me'Go solution allows us to set up a collection system to clean up cigarette butts, which are then recycled and turned into street furniture. We have also raised our employees' awareness of the pollution caused by cigarette butts discarded in nature.
In 2023, following the earthquake in Morocco, our Software Tech engineer, Nour Eddine Kallouda, initiated a donation campaign within our company. This initiative was supported by our employees, who collected numerous items of clothing, children's books and baby products. LuxTrust also made an in-kind donation of 11,000 euros, which enabled the purchase of 120 sleeping bags, blankets and torches to help the disaster victims.
Since 2023, we have been organising a Winter market in front of our IVY building in Capellen to celebrate the festive season. It's an opportunity to find unique gifts while supporting local and international associations, including :
- the HMC League, which supports people with intellectual disabilities and promotes their social, professional and cultural inclusion.
- Friendship - Colours of the Chars, which supports marginalised communities in Bangladesh.
- Handicap International Luxembourg, which helps disabled and vulnerable people.
- Asile pour animaux Régional-Dudelange, which shelters and protects our furry friends.
- LUkraine ASBL and ‘Stand of Ukraine’ at ‘Bazar international de Luxembourg’, which contribute to humanitarian aid in Ukraine.
As part of the Engineering Trainee Days organised by Jonk Entrepreneuren Luxembourg, we had the pleasure of welcoming students on our offices. The day gave them the opportunity to find out more about the IT professions and to familiarise themselves with the day-to-day work of our employees.
MBA Management of CSR and Organisational Performance
We collaborated with the MBA in CSR Management and Organisational Performance at the Université de Vinci Executive Education in Paris as part of their Project Management program. From October 2023 to April 2024, our CSR manager accompanied 7 students on an expert mission for LuxTrust, enabling them to master the skills of project management and the difficulty of leading "cross-functional and multidisciplinary" CSR projects.
In 2023 and 2024, several of our employees and their families took part in the Broschtkriibslaf race in Hesperange. This event, organised by the Europa Donna foundation, raised funds for breast cancer prevention. We are proud of our team's commitment to this cause and their contribution to raising awareness and fighting this disease.
We took part in the Relay for Life 2024. 32 colleagues and their loved ones walked, ran or cycled for the relay, a 24-hour charity race organised by the Fondation Cancer. By taking part in this symbolic event of solidarity, we wanted to show our support for cancer patients and their families, while raising funds for cancer prevention, treatment and research. Every step, every effort, every donation brings us closer to a world without cancer. Our coaches from KINSIDE Luxembourg joined us and prepared our team for this Relay for Life.
In 2023, the company decided to introduce a new free service with the aim of educating and supporting our users in the context of the digitalisation of our services. The aim was also to make our services more intuitive for those with little or no experience. The main purpose of this program, called Inclusion Delivery, is to educate, inform and bring LuxTrust closer to people with accessibility issues related to inclusion.
We therefore work closely with local authorities and associations to reach as many users as possible. A number of actions are underway and others are planned to achieve our diversity, equality and inclusion ambitions.
Actions in progress:
- Following our participation in the IMS Part&Act program, we have set ourselves the joint objective of facilitating and raising awareness among member companies of the need to maintain special relationships with the social economy sector, as part of win-win partnerships. The discussions we had with the NGOs (non-profit organisations) at this event enabled us to understand and take into account the needs of several associations working with the elderly, who have regularly received recurring questions about our products and how to use them.
- During dedicated sessions with the non-profit organisations, several LuxTrust teams (Onboarding, Customer Care, CSR, etc.) are on hand to educate and inform members about the migration of the Token to the LuxTrust Mobile application. At the end of the session, we help people to order new certificates. We also answer their questions about anti-phishing or any other issues related to our products and services.
Future actions:
- Thanks to the collaboration with public organisations or prestigious associations, LuxTrust will get closer to its disabled end-users to provide them with as much support as possible regarding our digital services. At the same time, we will continue to promote the use of qualified trust services and the benefits of using high-security services.
- Advising associations and local authorities on digital services, trust services and regulatory developments. Upon request, we can explain and demonstrate how LuxTrust can help everyone build a more secure digital future.
Work at LuxTrust is mainly office-based, and the main health and safety risks are musculoskeletal disorders, psychosocial risks and stress management at work. An action plan has been put in place to address work situations in order to prevent psychosocial risks and musculoskeletal risks as effectively as possible.
As part of our efforts to improve health and safety, we carried out a social barometer, which enabled us to identify the risk factors and resources of our teams. This barometer has enabled us to consolidate our commitment to quality of life at work through our aDéRe policy: ‘Associating self development with collective performance through cohesion and mutual respect’.
We continue to develop this program and its actions. We have undertaken initiatives to improve the working environment by refurbishing all office areas with ergonomic desks and chairs, and creating a relaxation area and fitness centre for our employees.
Talent management is one of the pillars of our Human Resources policy. It refers to all the actions taken to attract, integrate, motivate, and retain employees effectively. We have launched three programs dedicated to skills management, enabling our employees to develop, grow within the organisation and benefit from internal mobility.
1. The LuxTrust Academy
The LuxTrust Academy (LTA) is a program designed to support the training of trainees throughout their academic career in order to facilitate their recruitment if the experience is perceived as positive by both sides. Students who join our Academy are guaranteed an internship with follow-up throughout their studies. This program helps young people, whether graduates or not, who are often discriminated against in recruitment process due to their lack of experience. The LTA program was created to ensure the development of our trainees' skills and enable them to secure their employability on the job market.
2. The Talent Management Program
The Talent Management Program (TMP) is a program dedicated to employees identified as having high potential for the company. This program was created because our business sector is particularly competitive in positions requiring specific skills and expertise. LuxTrust believes that these talents are the driving force behind the creation of added value for the company. They are ambassadors and can have a positive influence on their environment. They play a role as agents of change, relying on training and the development of their specific soft skills. The programe runs over a three-year period and includes the completion of a concrete group project.
3. The People Management Program
The People Management Program (PMP) is aimed at all LuxTrust employees. It gives each employee the opportunity to propose training courses aimed at advancing their career. Two cumulative conditions must be met in order for these training courses to be taken: the training course must be approved by the N+1 or the C-level (sometimes by both) and it must be included in the training budget of the BPRH department.
